Gunnison Valley Calendar Is Your Source for Valley-Wide Events Listings

Gunnison Valley Calendar is a regional one-stop calendar where you can post your organization's events to a shared single website around the Gunnison Valley from Crested Butte to Gunnison.  The goal is to make posting events easy so that you don't have to submit to multiple calendars.  For Public Service Announcements with KBUT Community Radio, please submit your event two weeks in advance.

To expose your event details to a wider listening audience with more frequency, consider Underwriting at kbut.org.
Participants include:
  • KBUT Community Radio,
  • The Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce,
  • The Crested Butte Creative District,
  • The Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce and the
  • Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association.
The Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Calendar website and calendar is generously hosted and supported at no charge by Thin Air Web, serving Crested Butte and beyond since 1998.

Add to your calendar
Date: February 26, 7:00 pm-9:00pm
Continues Until:
Location: Crested Butte Mtn. Heritage Museum
Details: Join the Crested Butte Mountain Heritage Museum, Wednesday February 26th, at 7 pm to discuss and explore the political climate of the '70s. In this decade, Crested Butte became a National Historic District, a fire protection district was established, AMAX came to town, and the "old timers" were kicked off town council. Change was in the air and Crested Butte went full steam ahead. Learn how the political decisions of the 1970s continues to impact the community today. Panelists include: Bill Crank who served as mayor in the 1972 town council takeover; Roger Kahn who also sat on the 1972 town council; David Leinsdorf who served as county commissioner in the 1970s; and Bruce Baumgertner of BKR Associates who laid the groundwork for town planning and the future of Crested Butte. Audience is encouraged to participate by bringing questions for the panelists and stories to share about this influential decade.
