 Guest Teaching Artist, Fara Tolno, from Guinea, West Africa, will be back in the Gunnison Valley for Black History Month to teach dynamic, fun and family friendly cultural arts events! Fara is an engaging and energetic teacher! Community Events in Gunnison Valley: Free! Sunday 3/1 5pm, Gunnison Library, Drum class 5pm Monday 3/2 from 345-5pm , drum class 7pm Crested Butte library for a music and movement "Messy Monday" event (intended for elementary aged kids) followed by a drum class that evening at 7pm. Monday 3/2 130pm @ CB Center for the Arts ( new theater ) Fara's Kissidugu African Music and Dance Program for all elementary aged school kids and teachers at the new CFA building *These events are free, drums will be provided and families are encouraged to attend! Fara will also be doing assemblies at the Gunnison and Crested Butte Elementary Schools, as well as doing workshops with the faculty and 2nd and 3rd graders of CBCS during school day. |
