Join at the Crested Butte Library for new library offering: Mindful Meditation with instructor Jenny Ward. In recent years, mindfulness meditation has gained popularity for its many benefits including reducing stress and anxiety, promoting emotional health, and allowing for more ease and peace within oneself and in relationship with others. This class will offer teachings on how to develop skillful means for meditation practice, time to practice together, and opportunities for discussion and questions. No meditation experience is necessary to attend. Chairs for sitting meditation will be provided. If you prefer a cushion and/or mat, please bring your own. Jenny Ward is a former family physician, wife, and mom of two. She recently completed a two-year professional training program for teaching awareness and compassion-based practices with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach through Sounds True and The University of California’s Greater Good Science Center. She has practiced meditation for 10+ years and regularly attends week-long silent meditation retreats. This event is free & open to the public.
