This is a call for a Senior Center to serve older adults at the North end of the Gunnison Valley. Interested Community members are also invited to join for public comment at the Crested Butte Town Council meeting taking place Monday, May 20th beginning at 7pm. As we get closer to our goals for opening, it’s time to reach out to the community for volunteers to populate the various positions available. The aim of this letter is to invite locals of all ages to support this effort. We need an engine to get this car running, and you can be a part! Please take a look at the various positions and use the email: Crestedbutteseniorcenter@gmail.com to respond. Please know that many positions will require multiple volunteers, so you are never too late to apply. Please be sure to note your email and phone number. (Most pressing is a Social Media, Marketing and Communications Lead.) We are aiming for a very active center with arts, exercise, presentations, healthcare consultations, one-on-one tech sessions, financial consultations, yoga, MahJong, and that is the short list. Those volunteers over 55 can apply for “RSVP” status with Region10. This program has great benefits. That information is included under the opportunities. You can apply online by filling out a simple, short form. |
