On The surface a Joint Point implies a juncture at which individual ideas converge into collaborative ones. For those lucky enough to ride the ski mountain in Telluride, it indicates a more specific meaning, namely a ski run between Mammoth and Spiral Stairs off the “local’s lift” chair 9. Yet the moniker takes on even more depth when you consider a constantly evolving musical ensemble, Telluride’s popular jam band, Joint Point. Formed in the Colorado ski town in 2008, the group prides itself on its eclecticism, easily moving between dance rock, reggae, jazz, latin, bluegrass, disco, fusion and country. Guitarists Stu Sundel-Norlin and Jeff Haldeman deliver well crafted, intelligent song writing that has attracted large crowds over the last 10 years. The rhythm section of Casey Yorkunas and Joel Waller continually push the band in new directions and ways to explore their vast catalog of songs. Do yourself a favor and check them out as they open the ~2019 CANNIVAL~ MAIN STAGE @ 4:20pm FRIDAY 04.19.19 Click here for the event website |
