Classes occur on an ongoing weekly basis to allow students to build skills over the course of time. These high-energy dance classes to live drumming explore a variety of traditional African movements and rhythms from Guinea to Zimbabwe. Learn the history of these dances practiced historically in villages, then brought to America through professional ballet companies. Dances are often used to celebrate the great markers of life such births, deaths, weddings, plantings, harvests, hunting and fishing.
All levels are welcome.
