 The Town of Crested Butte is excited to invite you to participate in a special event that celebrates our environment, solicits community feedback on the Climate Action Plan, and shares our community’s creativity. The Town of Crested Butte is hosting a Climate Poetry Slam & Open Mic Night, and we would love for you to be a part of it! This is an opportunity for the community to come together and share their passion for the environment through songs, poems, music, and other forms of artistic expression. We welcome contributions from all! How to Participate: 1. Sign Up: Contact Dannah Leeman, the Town’s Sustainability Coordinator at dleeman@crestedbutte-co.gov with your name and type of performance you would like to. You are not required to sign up in advance, but it would be helpful if you do so! 2. Prepare Your Piece: We encourage environmental themes, from personal experiences to creative interpretations of nature and sustainability. Whether it is a piece you have previously shared or brand new, all pieces are welcome. 3. Tell people you know: We would appreciate you sharing our event with others in your circles! 4. Join Us: On the night of September 26th, arrive a bit early to the event to get settled and ready for your performance, and see where you fall on the schedule. If you’re interested in attending but not performing, we’d still love to have your support and hear from you about the Town’s developing Climate Action Plan. Additionally, if you know of anyone else who you think would be interested in performing, please connect them with Dannah Leeman at dleeman@crestedbutte-co.gov. Let’s come together to celebrate our environment and our community’s creativity. We are excited to see the performances you all bring to the stage! |
