GunnisonValleyCalendar.com Offers New Valley-Wide Events Listings

Several area organizations have teamed up to introduce a new regional events calendar known as GunnisonValleyCalendar.com. The goal is to make it easier to share upcoming events in the valley, from Crested Butte to Gunnison, through a single website, instead of having organizations post to multiple calendars. Consider underwriting to expose your event details to a wider listening audience with more frequency at kbut.org/underwriting.
Participants include:
  • KBUT Community Radio,
  • The Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce,
  • The Crested Butte Creative District,
  • The Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce and the
  • Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association.
The Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Calendar website and calendar is generously hosted and supported at no charge by Thin Air Web, serving Crested Butte and beyond since 1998.

Location: Crested Butte Center for the Arts
Details: Spencer Wells is a geneticist, anthropologist, author, and entrepreneur. Spencer, received his Ph.D. from Harvard University, and conducted postdoctoral work at Stanford and Oxford. He has appeared in documentary films and is the author of three books: The Journey of Man, Deep Ancestry, and Pandora's Seed. His work has taken him to more than 100 countries, where he has collaborated with everyone from heads of government and Fortune 500 corporations to tribal chieftains eking out a precarious living in places as remote as Chad, Tajikistan, and Papua New Guinea. He lives in Austin, Texas, where he is founder and CEO of the consumer genomics company Insitome, an adjunct professor at the University of Texas, and owner of the iconic blues club Antone’s.
