GunnisonValleyCalendar.com Offers New Valley-Wide Events Listings

Several area organizations have teamed up to introduce a new regional events calendar known as GunnisonValleyCalendar.com. The goal is to make it easier to share upcoming events in the valley, from Crested Butte to Gunnison, through a single website, instead of having organizations post to multiple calendars. Consider underwriting to expose your event details to a wider listening audience with more frequency at kbut.org/underwriting.
Participants include:
  • KBUT Community Radio,
  • The Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce,
  • The Crested Butte Creative District,
  • The Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce and the
  • Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association.
The Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Calendar website and calendar is generously hosted and supported at no charge by Thin Air Web, serving Crested Butte and beyond since 1998.

GMUG Wild & Scenic Community Night
with American Whitewater and Trout Unlimited

Add to your calendar
Date: March 12, 6:00 pm-7:30pm
Continues Until:
Location: The Depot, 716 Elk Avenue
Details: Rivers, lakes, and streams are the lifeblood of our wild public lands here in western Colorado. High Country Conservation Advocates is excited that the Forest Service is calling on the public to participate in Wild & Scenic River planning for the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forest as part of its Forest Plan revision. This is a rare opportunity for you to help shape management direction for the backcountry waters that you cherish! Join us at this event to share your personal experience and give us information on the Wild & Scenic places you want to protect! Our Water Program Director Julie Nania will discuss the public's role in this important process and how to write effective comments. We will have light refreshments and pizza from The Brick Oven! Protecting our free-flowing streams across the GMUG is essential. Public participation that highlights important riparian values, key scenic reaches, ecologic assets and geomorphic uniqueness on our creeks and lakes can help us define the values that make our rivers qualify for Wild and Scenic eligibility.
