 Join Crested Butte Film Festival on the third Thursday of every month for our Monthly Film Series, a powerful line up of diverse and inspiring films, audience favorites, and new independent cinematic masterpieces. SAMI BLOOD A 14-year-old girl belonging to the Sámi people, a Scandinavian ethnic minority, is subjected to racism and eugenic scrutiny in the 1930s when she is removed from her family and sent to a state-run school that aims to re-educate her into Swedish culture. She must soon choose between new academic opportunities or staying true to her cultural identity, all while weathering the storms of adolescence. In this feature debut from Writer/Director Amanda Kernell, a haunting coming-of-age story unfolds with righteous rage, psychological acuity, and profound empathy. *In Lapp and Swedish with English subtitles*
