In the Spring of that year, 1,000+ people a day poured into Gunnison. Most moved on, hoping to strike it rich in them thar hills, but… some stayed. This Up Valley, Down Valley Players readers theatre production is the true - well, mostly true - story of four who did stay: the legendary lawman Doc Shores, the Bloodhound of the Rockies and the pistol-packing owner of the richest mine in the area - Ellen Jack aka Captain Jack; Garwood Judd after whom Judd Falls near Gothic is named. Plus a cameo of a skiing mail carrier Al Johnson. AND the one who left but came back… in handcuffs: Alferd Packer. Live music and dance numbers straight from those early days in the Gunnison Country make this a must-see show! Tickets: $20/adults, $18/seniors & veterans, $12/kids. GAC Members receive $2 off ticket prices.
