 Join us for the first annual Uncompahgre Pow-Wow! Hosted by the Western Slope Native American Resource Center and the Ute Indian Museum. Enter a dance contest, enjoy local food, and more. Pow-wow: 11:00 AM to dusk Dance Registration 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Gourd Dancing until 1:00 PM Grand Entry 1:00 PM There will be a Silent Auction starting at 11:00 AM and winners will be announced after the last dance. Parking is limited. Please ride our free shuttle located at the Target parking lot by Discount Tire. The shuttle will run 10:30 AM to 8:00 PM every 15 minutes. Dance contest: Over $14,000 in prizes will be awarded! There will be a drawing with up to $4,500 in prizes for all dancers who do not win first, second, or third in each category. Dance categories and prizes: TINY-TOTS: 0-6 yrs / Prizes will be awarded JR. GIRLS: 7-12 yrs / Fancy, Jingle, Traditional / 1st place $100 / 2nd place $75 / 3rd Place $50 JR.BOYS: 7-12 yrs / Fancy, Grass, Traditional / 1st place $100 / 2nd place $75 / 3rd Place $50 TEEN GIRLS: 13-17 yrs / Fancy, Jingle & Traditional / 1st place $200 / 2nd place $150 / 3rd Place $75 TEEN BOYS: 13-17 yrs / Fancy, Grass & Traditional / 1st place $200 / 2nd place $150 / 3rd Place $75 ADULT WOMEN’S: 18-49 yrs / Fancy, Jingle & Traditional / 1st place $600 / 2nd place $400 / 3rd Place $300 ADULT MEN’S: 18-49 yrs / Fancy, Grass & Traditional / 1st place $600 / 2nd place $400 / 3rd Place $300 GOLDEN AGE WOMEN’S: 50+ / 1st place $600 / 2nd place $400 / 3rd Place $300 GOLDEN AGE MEN’S: 50+ / 1st place $600 / 2nd place $400 / 3rd Place $300 Vendors: Vendors must either donate an item to the Silent Auction OR pay a $200 vendor fee. There will be limited space for food vendors, so please sign up early!
