Join us for an evening at the Crested Butte Museum to explore the Colorado River Compact of 1922 and view select photographs of seldom seen historical photos of Crested Butte. Topics we will explore include: Water and the West Western States Water Fights Supreme Court decides Western water fights: Kansas v. Colorado, 1901-07 and Wyoming v. Colorado, 1911-22. Delph Carpenter - Colorado water lawyer extraordinaire Colorado River Compact of 1922 Compact controversies Upper Colorado River Storage Act, 1956 creates 6 dams in Upper Colorado River Basin Dire picture of water in Colorado and the West today Complimentary refreshments included!
