 Why Color: A four week workshop Tuesdays, 10:00 - 12:00 pm, June 7 - June 28. In works of art, to me, the fundamental question that needs to be answered is not, what color(s), but why color? What is that color can do for a composition that none of the other elements can achieve. What “meaning” can color reveal? What “feeling” can color invoke? How do colors reveal the most sublime characteristic of a composition? Once that question has been answered the importance of color to a work of art becomes more fully understood. Through direct application this four-week workshop will look at the importance of color, beyond fundamental theory concepts, in establishing meaning, invoking feeling though a sublime interaction between color, values and shapes with in works of art. Instructor: Don Eugene Seastrum. Cost: $120.
