 African Drum Camps Monday - Friday, June 8 - 12. Ages 13 - Adults: 3:00 - 5:00 pm. Explore the traditions, culture and music of West Africa and immerse yourself in this five day camp led by instructor and professional drummer, Laine Ludwig. Students will learn techniques of the djembe drum, “duns”, guancogi bells as well as rhythms to several traditional West African cultures. Students will combine practiced parts to form ensemble pieces, which will be played in a culminating performance. This is a great stepping stone to learn reggae, pop, rock & roll, jazz and other genres. Day camp held on the Outdoor Courtyard (bring sunscreen & hat) or Dance Studio (weather depending). Students may bring their own drums, drums will also be provided. Min 4, Max 10 students to run. Pre-registration is required. Instructor: Laine Ludwig. Tuition: $100/student, $85/members.
