Moonlight Concert Series: Golden Shoals w/ Big Silly Thursday, April 2. Doors 7:30, Concert 8:00 pm. Brought together by a mutual love for American folk music, Amy Alvey (fiddle, guitar) and Mark Kilianski (guitar, banjo) have been entertaining audiences all over the U.S. with their tight duo sound since 2013. Ever inspired by the enduring spirit of traditional Appalachian mountain music, Golden Shoals calls Asheville, North Carolina home. Their songwriting comes across as simple, honest, and fresh to the ears. Both are Berklee College of Music alumni, and the listener can expect the polished technique of conservatory training, in tandem with the grit, drive, and soul of musicians like Roscoe Holcomb or Ola Belle Reed. Joined on stage with Big Silly; Matt Lackey (fiddle, mandolin, guitar) and Lizzy Plotkin (fiddle, guitar), these outstanding musicians promise an entertaining and a once-in-a-lifetime performance. In the words of Lackey “come experience some bad a** old time music as we try not to burn the place down”. Tickets: $18/adults, $16/members & students. Click here for the event website |
