 The film is based on a French border during World War I. The town is abandoned by normal townspeople fearing an invasion by the Germans. However, one French soldier is knocked out during the retreat. When he awakes in this town, unknown to him, the local asylum doors have been left open and the town populated by oddly dressed cooks. This movie became a local favorite during the 70s, many identifying with this zany dark comedy. This is a French movie with English subtitles.
