 The Slate River Floating Management Plan is currently open for review and feedback from the public. The draft management plan, compiled by a group of 18 stakeholders called the Slate River Working Group, recommends adaptive river recreation management actions necessary for upholding the ecological integrity and other “conservation values” of the Slate River. The draft plan can be viewed at https://www.cblandtrust.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/SRWG-Draft-Management-Plan-9.6.18.pdf and comments may be submitted to slateriverworkinggroup@cblandtrust.org or presented in person at an open house and public forum on September 27, 2018 at the Crested Butte Town Hall Council Chambers. The public forum will start promptly at 6:00 p.m. with a presentation providing an overview of this process and the management solutions proposed in the draft management plan, followed by an opportunity to comment publicly.
