 Please join the Town of Crested Butte to learn about Climate Action in our community. On Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 6 p.m. at the Center for the Arts, the Town of Crested Butte will present their final draft of the Climate Action Plan, which has been given significant input from the local community. Prior to the Climate Action Plan presentation, the evening will kick-off with a short film showing and presentation by Dr. Jane Zelikova, called End of Snow. Jane is a tropical ecologist living in the mountains of Wyoming and Colorado. In End of Snow, Jane visits the Snowy Range Mountains in Wyoming, the snow guardian, billy barr, in Gothic, CO, and Freddie Botur’s ranch in Big Piney, WY and chronicles how climate change is impacting our mountain regions. Lastly, the evening will conclude with a wrap up from Sustainable Crested Butte sharing the biggest ways individuals in our community can take action on climate change. Additionally, representatives from Protect Our Winters (POW) will be on hand to share how to utilize advocacy to shape our climate future.
