 Crested Butte Film Festival presents two films to kickoff the holiday season. On Thursday, November 21st, 7:30 at the Center for the Arts, the festival brings back to town, the staggeringly human film, Gay Chorus Deep South. Gay Chorus takes the viewer on an emotional, choral journey through the deep south with 280 members of the San Francisco Gay Mens Chorus, who travel the southlands, at their own expense, in response to a wave of discriminatory anti-LGBTQ laws and the divisive 2016 presidential election. What we learn in the film is that the things that divide us - faith, politics, and sexual identity - are overpowered by the soaring power of music and humanity. That, and a little drag. The film is co-sponsored by the Union Congregational Church. On Friday, November 29th Crested Butte Film Festival kicks off your winter right with the showing of Warren Miller's Timeless, presented by Volkswagen. Featuring ski legends like Glen Plake, alongside newcomers Caite Zeliff, Jaelin Kauf, and Baker Boyd, Warren Miller road trips with rippers from Arlberg to the Matterhorn, smokes the hometown hill of Eldora, and discovers a different side of Jackson Hole - plus much more as only Warren Miller can send it. Renew the annual family tradition and start your season right with Warren Miller. The film will also play December 29th as part of the film festival's new "WinterFest." Showtimes for both viewings of Warren Miller are 7pm at the Center. Tickets to both films at cbfilmfest.org, the Center, and any remaining tickets at the door. The 10th annual Crested Butte Film Festival brings 100 films and 30 visiting filmmakers to town September 24 - 27, 2020.
