GunnisonValleyCalendar.com Offers New Valley-Wide Events Listings


 
Several area organizations have teamed up to introduce a new regional events calendar known as GunnisonValleyCalendar.com. The goal is to make it easier to share upcoming events in the valley, from Crested Butte to Gunnison, through a single website, instead of having organizations post to multiple calendars. Consider underwriting to expose your event details to a wider listening audience with more frequency at kbut.org/underwriting.

  • The Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce,
  • The Crested Butte Creative District,
  • The Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce and the
  • Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association. 
The Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Calendar website and calendar is generously hosted and supported at no charge by Thin Air Web, serving Crested Butte and beyond since 1998.

Afghanistan and the Mid-East: Wise Diplomacy?

Details: Ambassador Ronald Neumann served as US ambassador to Afghanistan, Algeria, Bahrain, and as deputy assistant secretary of State for the Middle East. In a 37-year career in the State Department he served also in Iran, Iraq, Yemen, the United Emirates and Senegal as well as office director for Iran-Iraq as well as other positions. He is now president of the American Academy of Diplomacy, an NGO focused on strengthening American diplomacy. He is the author of a memoire, Three Embassies, Four Wars: a personal memoire (2017) and The Other War: Winning and Losing in Afghanistan, a book on his time in Afghanistan. He has returned to Afghanistan repeatedly, most recently in November 2018, and is the author of a number of monographs, articles, and editorials. Ambassador Neumann is on the advisory committees of a girls school in Afghanistan, the School of Leadership, Afghanistan (SOLA) and Spirit of America. He is on the board of the Middle East Policy Council.
