GunnisonValleyCalendar.com Offers New Valley-Wide Events Listings

Several area organizations have teamed up to introduce a new regional events calendar known as GunnisonValleyCalendar.com. The goal is to make it easier to share upcoming events in the valley, from Crested Butte to Gunnison, through a single website, instead of having organizations post to multiple calendars. Consider underwriting to expose your event details to a wider listening audience with more frequency at kbut.org/underwriting.
Participants include:
  • KBUT Community Radio,
  • The Crested Butte/Mt. Crested Butte Chamber of Commerce,
  • The Crested Butte Creative District,
  • The Gunnison Country Chamber of Commerce and the
  • Gunnison-Crested Butte Tourism Association.
The Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Calendar website and calendar is generously hosted and supported at no charge by Thin Air Web, serving Crested Butte and beyond since 1998.

Author Talk: Jonathan Thompson
Add to your calendar
Date: April 15, 7:00 pm-8:00pm
Continues Until:
Location: Gunnison Library
Details: Jonathan Thompson will present "Mining, myths, and methane madness," a slide show on historic mine pollution in Colorado and how it is echoed by methane pollution from oil and gas wells today, as well as offering possible ways to avoid yesterday’s mistakes. Jonathan Thompson’s book River of Lost Souls digs into the science, politics, and greed behind the 2015 Gold King Mine disaster, and unearths a litany of impacts wrought by a century and a half of mining, energy development, and fracking in southwestern Colorado. This event is sponsored by Gunnison County Libraries, Western Colorado University: School of Environment & Sustainability & High County News. It is free and open to all.
