 Architects of Jamgrass, Leftover Salmon set the precedent for upholding the technical precision of traditional bluegrass yet breaking free with a willingness to fuse disparate musical styles and a proclivity for pushing songs in psychedelic directions. After nearly 30 years they are one of the biggest bands on the roots music circuit today, with legions of fans and routinely sold out shows. Their newest album, Something Higher (out May 2018), taps into everything from horn-blasting R&B to reverb-drenched desert noir, from the cosmic roots music sound they helped create to neo-New Orleans-meets-Appalachia liquefaction. They dig deep into their well of influences of rock ‘n’ roll, folk, bluegrass, Cajun, soul, zydeco, jazz and blues, direct descendants of bands like Little Feat and the Grateful Dead and opening new dimensions for predecessors such as The String Cheese Incident and Yonder Mountain String Band. This unequivocal legendary band enjoys a constant vibrant, relevant and influential voice, consistently evolving, and currently reveling in quite the creative renaissance.
