Contemporary: In this class I will be teaching the Horton technique. Lester Horton was interested in clearly defined shapes, as well as how a dancer can move through these shapes with energy and use of space. Horton technique emphasizes the whole-body approach including: flexibility, strength, coordination, and body awareness to allow freedom of expression. -Beginner Horton will include the very basics of Horton. Including Fortifications, laterals, across the floor combinations, and Prelude 1-2.
