This local march is an extension of the national Women's March organization and corresponding mission. Women across the US are peacefully demonstrating on Saturday, October 2nd ahead of the Supreme Court reconvening on Monday, October 4th. This peaceful demonstration is a March in support of women's reproductive rights, ending violence against women, civil rights, immigrant rights, and disability rights, among many other concerns. Read more here: https://womensmarch.com/mission-and-principles Mission: The mission of Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change. Women’s March is a women-led movement providing intersectional education on a diverse range of issues and creating entry points for new grassroots activists & organizers to engage in their local communities through trainings, outreach programs and events. Women’s March is committed to dismantling systems of oppression through nonviolent resistance and building inclusive structures guided by self-determination, dignity and respect. We will have Project HOPE in attendance, and a number of other local female leaders speaking! Please arrive between 10:30-11:00AM. We will start marching between 11AM - 11:15AM from Jorgensen Park towards highway 135 and then north on highway 135 until we get to Denver. We will turn around at Denver and come back down Main Street. Once we are back at Jorgensen, we will listen to speakers, have a letter-writing table, and distribute some additional resources for those who would like to stay involved! Thank you for coming out to support women and women's rights!
