 African Drum Camp (Ages 13 - Adults) Monday – Friday, August 17 – 21. 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Explore the traditions, culture, and music of West Africa! Immerse yourself in this five-day camp led by instructor and professional drummer, Laine Ludwig where students will learn techniques of the djembe drum, “duns”, guancogi bells, as well as rhythms to several traditional West African cultures. Students will combine practiced parts to form ensemble pieces, which will be played in a culminating performance. This is a great stepping stone to learn reggae, pop, rock & roll, jazz and other genres. Day camp held on the Outdoor Courtyard (bring sunscreen & hat) or Dance Studio (weather depending). Students may bring their own drums, drums will also be provided. Location: Outdoor Courtyard (or inside Dance Studio weather depending). Min 4 students, Max 8 students to run. Instructor: Laine Ludwig Tuition: $100/student, $85/members.
