 We are working closely with Gunnison County Health officials to offer our enriching theatre camp experience for a limited number of youths in the Gunnison Valley ages 4th grade and up. Campers will be assigned a scene from a Broadway play or musical prior to attending camp. If you prefer to act and sing, act only, or work your magic behind the scenes, we'll find the right fit for you! Our camp will culminate in a performance (live or virtual, TBD) on Friday, August 21st. In addition to receiving direction on their Broadway scenes, campers will participate in a variety of theatre games and workshops, including voice, movement, storytelling and behind-the-scenes design work. Our goal is to equip youths in areas that go beyond the stage lights: thinking creatively, enhancing communication skills, encouraging empathy and positive self-concept, problem solving, and collaborating together. We are excited to have MaryBeth Wlodarczyk as our YouTheatre camp director this year! She recently moved to Gunnison and has an M.F.A. in Theatre Directing from Lindenwood University. She is a writer, film critic and teacher. She enjoys traveling, reading, acting and spending time with her family.
